About TestCenter Denmark

TestCenter Denmark (TCDK) has test stations located across the country in cooperation with the Danish regions. PCR-Tests are analyzed at one of the two national laboratories at Statens Serum Institut (SSI) and Aarhus.

In April 2020 it was decided to establish TCDK to increase testing activity significantly and to support the governments testing strategy during the covid-19 crisis. TCDK is established in cooperation between the government and Danish regions. Furthermore, TCDK was supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

TestCenter Denmark has experienced a rapid development since the beginning in April 2020. You can find more information about the setup of TestCenter Denmark here.

The Danish government has adopted an extensive testing strategy which allows everyone from the age of 2 – including foreign citizens and tourists – to be tested free of charge. The objective is that 80 pct. of those who have to be tested are able to be tested within 24 hours, and that 80 pct. of those who are tested can obtain their test result the day after they were tested.

You can read the official testing strategy here.

The covid-19 PCR test is accredited by the Danish accreditation fund. You can read and download information about the SARS-CoV-2 PCR analysis and the quality of the test here.
