About TestCenter Denmark

TestCenter Denmark has test stations located across the country in cooperation with the Danish regions. Tests are analyzed at the national laboratory at the State Serum Institute (SSI) and from December 2020 a new laboratory in Western Denmark will increase analytical capacity even more.

In April 2020 it was decided to establish TestCenter Denmark to increase testing activity significantly and to support the governments testing strategy during the COVID-19 crisis. TestCenter Denmark is established in cooperation between the government and Danish regions. TestCenter Denmark is also supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and Novo Nordisk.

TestCenter Denmark has experienced a rapid development since the beginning in April 2020. You can find more information about the setup of TestCenter Denmark here.

The Danish government has adopted an extensive testing strategy which allows everyone from the age of 2 – including foreign citizens and tourists – to be tested free of charge. The objective is that 80 pct. of those who have to be tested are able to be tested within 24 hours, and that 80 pct. of those who are tested can obtain their test result the day after they were tested.

You can read the official testing strategy here.
